What are Community Engagement Collectives?

CEC's are small groups led by our employees whose goal is to build relationships in the community through volunteerism, partnerships, and elevating local organizations. They support their community through volunteerism, partnerships, and elevating the stories of organizations working to transform our community. In the words of Seattle members, The CEC creates opportunities for connection. Through volunteering with organizations like City Fruit or Family Works you get an insight into an aspect of your community you might have overlooked entirely.

Memorable moments from the past year:

One of the more memorable projects the Seattle CEC worked on this past year was a skate-inspired Little Free Pantry. Little Free Pantries are an easy way for neighbors to help neighbors who need food, hygiene, or paper Items. The biggest takeaway was the overwhelming support from the community. While the pantry sits within evo Seattle and is routinely replenished by the CEC, our neighbors are restocking as much as we are. Together we can support each other in a way that can not be done on your own, and that is the goal of our Community Engagement Collective. We wanted to take a moment to celebrate Jillian, Dan, Bates, Charlotte, and Matt for all their hard work and the impact they are making in their community.

Our Seattle Store Mural: Skier Chris Benchetler and Skye Walker

Skier Chris Benchetler partnered with good friend and master muralist Skye Walker on a large scale collaboration tying back to Chris' film "Chasing AdVANture" and incorperating elements important to Chris throughout the piece. Prominent are Old Man Winter, Mother Nature and the southern Sierras that Chris calls home. His Sprinter the Stealthy Marmot is parked overlooking an oncoming swell while his dog Reese gets barreled further down the line. We think it turned out pretty darn good. But don’t take our word for it, come see it for yourself.
